Turkey awarded over 2GW of wind capacity as it wrapped up its first round of tenders under a major renewables expansion programme.

The country held a four-day wind tender that closed at the end of December, resulting in a total 2,130MW of turbine capacity for plants to be built at 32 different locations across Turkey.

The latest projects add to the 710MW previously auctioned in June for 11 locations in the initial stage of 2017’s 3GW round.
