American Electric Power (AEP) has made public its proposed route for a $1.6bn transmission line across Oklahoma that will carry 2GW of electricity from the largest US wind farm under construction there to customers in four states.

The dedicated 360-mile (580km), single-circuit 765kV overhead line would stretch from the westernmost county of Cimarron in Oklahoma’s Panhandle eastward to a point north of Tulsa, according to maps released by Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO).
