Enel brought almost 600MW of turbines into service that the Italian group said makes it the leading operator in the key US wind state of Oklahoma.

The Italian group’s 298MW Thunder Ranch and 300MW Red Dirt projects both began operations for its Enel Green Power (EGP) North America subsidiary after a combined investment of $855m.

The projects reflect the growing role of corporate PPAs in the US wind sector.
