Wind power in 2017 accounted for a record 43.6% of electricity consumption in Denmark – the global pacesetter in the sector – helped by strong winds that ended in a stormy December and provided an output of 14,700 gigawatt hours throughout the year, industry group Danish Energy said.

That was up from a 37.6% wind share in Denmark’s electricity mix in 2016, and higher than the previous record of 42% in 2015, said Danish Energy citing data from TSO Energinet.
