Actis, the UK-based investment group that has become a significant renewables player in a number of emerging markets, has agreed to acquire a 2.2GW generation portfolio and other assets in Mexico from InterGen – including its in stake in the groundbreaking 155MW Energía Sierra Juárez wind farm, which sells its power in the US.

InterGen, a Massachusetts-based independent power producer, will sell its Mexican business interests to Actis for an enterprise value of $1.3bn.
