Turkish conglomerate Agaoglu Group plans to invest more than 1bn liras ($260m) in renewable energy next year, having already signed a supply deal with Germany’s Nordex for a first project.

Ağaoğlu invested 700m liras in renewable energy in 2016 and 400m liras in 2017. By 2020, the group aims to top 5bn liras in renewables investments, it said.

Aiming to reach its goal, Agaoglu and Nordex inked a deal for the supply of the 125MW Balikesir wind farm, which will be built in Turkey’s Marmara region.
