Irish renewable energy developer Mainstream Renewable Power has secured $50m in mezzanine financing for two wind farms with a combined capacity of 320MW that it has started building in Chile.

The investment was made by Apollo Global Management in the 190MW Sarco and 129MW Aurora projects.

The plants were contracted at Chile’s 2016 power tender by Aela Energía, a joint venture between Mainstream and British investment fund Actis.
