Morocco’s 120MW Khalladi wind farm has exported its first power into the country’s high voltage network, ACWA Power group has announced.

The wind farm, located in Jbel Sendouq, 30km from Tangiers and developed by ACWA Power in a 75%/25% venture with the ARIF Investment Fund, represents an investment of around 1.7bn dirhams ($180m).

Khalladi is among the first privately-funded renewable energy plants to be developed in the North African nation, taking advantage of regulatory changes that allow projects to sell directly to grid-connected users.
