UK energy contractor Wood has been tapped by GE Energy Financial Services (GE EFS) and the Green Investment Group (GIG) as the owner's engineer for Sweden’s 650MW Markbygden ETT project, set to become Europe biggest single-site onshore wind farm.

The development, to be built in Lapland near the town of Piteå using 179, 3.63MW GE wind turbines, is also the world’s largest corporate power purchase agreement (PPA) in the wind sector to date, with offtake having been purchased by Norwegian aluminium giant Norsk Hydro.
