UK government-industry body the Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult has brokered a deal with China’s Tus-Wind and TusPark Newcastle to advance offshore wind technology co-operation between the two nations, providing a potential springboard for British companies into the region’s fast-growing market.
The deal will set the cornerstone for a UK-China Technology Growth Accelerator to shepherd new British technology into the Chinese offshore wind market, as well as underpinning development of the Tus Offshore Wind Science Park and a 500MW pilot – incorporating 10-15% UK content – and creating joint academic-industrial research projects between the two countries.
