Foreign developers will have an easier ride in China’s offshore wind market than Western turbine suppliers in the years ahead, in a reversal of the current situation, a senior Goldwind executive claims.

China is a notoriously difficult market for foreign companies, but Endi Zhai, chief engineer and general manager for offshore at Chinese turbine giant Goldwind, notes that Western suppliers – and specifically Siemens – have played a major role in the early days of China’s offshore market.
