Germany’s Aerodyn Engineering will in January deploy a 1:10-scale test model of its SCDnezzy 6.0MW floating wind turbine off Japan.

Aerodyn will unveil the model on 18 December at the Nobiskrug shipyard in Rendsburg, in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein, ahead of three months of testing off the Japanese coast.

“The test model in a bay off Hiroshima is slated to provide important measuring data for the construction of a floating prototype with a capacity of 6MW,” the company’s managing director Sönke Siegriedsen said in an invitation to the Rendsburg event.
