Simec Energy has acquired Green Highland Renewables (GHR) from developer Ancala, a next step in its strategy to build a total of 1GW of renewable power generation capacity in Britain by the end of the decade.
The takeover by Simec, part of the global GFG Alliance, is part of a wider plan to support GFG stablemate Liberty Steel’s ambition of developing five million tonnes of low-carbon ‘green steel’ production in the UK within five years.
