There is now more than 20GW of wind power capacity on the main electric grid in Texas, surpassing coal at about 19.8GW, as the number one US electricity-producing state continues its transition toward cleaner generation sources.

Earlier this month, Dallas-based developer Tri Global Energy completed the 155.4MW Fluvanna I project for owner Terna Energy, a Greek renewables company, pushing installed wind power capacity over 20GW within the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT).
