A study looking at the Dutch and UK electricity markets has found that turning the so-called WindConnector concept into reality could potentially save customers and the offshore wind sector billions of dollars.

The research by Pöyry was commissioned by TenneT, the operator of the Dutch offshore grid, and The Crown Estate, the UK real estate business and seabed manager. It explored possible opportunities for further cost reduction in offshore wind through alternative grid connection infrastructure solutions.
