Majority Republicans in the US Senate are pushing for a vote this week on their plan for a major revision of the federal tax code which, unlike the version passed by the House of Representatives, preserves terms for a phase-out this decade of the wind production tax credit (PTC).
They face a tight schedule to bring the bill to the floor, win approval and then reach agreement with their House counterparts on a final bill to modernize and streamline the massive and unwieldy tax code.
