Norway’s Statoil hailed its Dudgeon offshore wind farm as a beacon for the industry in the key areas of cost-reduction, delivery and safety as it officially inaugurated the 402MW project off eastern England.

Dudgeon – which uses 67, 6MW Siemens Gamesa turbines – began operations in September, ahead of schedule and at a construction cost 15% below the £1.5bn ($2bn) foreseen when the final investment decision was taken on the project in 2014.
