An agreement has been reached lifting the immediate threat of administration hanging over troubled offshore wind supplier Burntisland Fabrications (BiFab), the Scottish government has said.

A financial package has been provided by Dutch-owned contractor Seaway Heavy Lifting, developer SSE, and partners to complete the contract for the 588MW Beatrice wind farm in the outer Moray Firth off eastern Scotland. The Scottish government has also indicated it will, if necessary, make a commercial loan facility available to BiFab.
