Brazil’s power regulator, Aneel, approved the rules for the A-4 and A-6 tenders to be held on 18 and 20 December, and set price caps of R$276 per MWh ($84.29) for wind and R$329/MWh for solar.

The price caps are the highest in Latin America in dollar terms in spite of Brazil’s nine-year track record in renewables tenders, in part reflecting the country’s current economic and political turmoil.
