Offshore wind has appeared on the Swedish policy radar several times in the last few months, in ways that recognise its potential role in the country’s future energy mix.
Firstly, the Governmental Energy Commission suggested investigating whether the grid connection for offshore wind should be abolished. Then the Swedish Energy Agency released a report that confirms offshore wind power as part of the future energy transition in Sweden – and possible specific support for it in the future.
