The US Northeast has the potential for up to 8GW of offshore wind by 2030, according to one of three studies released by the trio of states leading the sector’s development off the Atlantic coast.
The 8GW capacity – which would power about four million homes – is the high end of a market study produced for key agencies in New York, Massachusetts and Rhode Island, with 4GW seen even under a low regional deployment trajectory.
