Energy may be far down the list of priorities in the torturous Brexit negotiations between the UK and the EU — but it is likely to be one of the easiest policy areas on which to reach agreement.

“None of us can know exactly how these Brexit talks will go, but I believe there is such a mutuality of interests on energy matters that I don’t see any policy divergence at all,” UK energy and industry minister Richard Harrington recently told a House of Lords EU sub-committee inquiry into the post-Brexit internal energy market.
