MidAmerican Energy, part of billionaire Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway conglomerate, will build a 340MW wind farm as the third piece of its landmark $3.6bn, 2GW Wind XI project announced last year.
The North English facility in Poweshiek County in southeastern Iowa will consist of 170, 2MW Vestas turbines. Construction activity is underway and completion is scheduled for December 2018.
North English will share an operations and maintenance building with the nearby 168MW Prairie wind project.
