Clean energy group Zen Energy plans to build 1GW of battery storage and renewables projects in South Australia.

The move is part of the company’s strategic plans announced since British billionaire Sanjeev Gupta’s GFG Alliance purchased a controlling share in Zen.

“The assets will support long-term electricity supply contracts with South Australia’s large industrial users to provide access to lower cost, reliable and low emission energy,” Zen said in a statement.
