Siemens Gamesa has won a contract to provide the 281.4MW Nordlicht project in northern Norway with 67 of its recently-introduced 4.2MW SWT-DD-130 turbines.
The project to be commissioned in the summer of 2019 on the Kvitfjell and Raudfjell mountains west of the city of Tromsø is the largest onshore wind project in Europe this year, the German-Spanish OEM says.
A service and maintenance agreement was also signed, covering service and maintenance for an extended turbine lifetime.
