New York intends to become the “global leader” in offshore wind during the industry’s next growth phase, the state’s lieutenant governor declared Tuesday at the AWEA Offshore conference in New York City.
“We intend to be the preeminent global hub for the next generation of growth in this industry – you heard it here first,” Kathy Hochul, New York’s second-highest ranking state official under Governor Andrew Cuomo, said in a speech before an enthusiastic crowd.
