EDF seals Kansas project PPA

EDF Renewable Energy has finalized a 20-year power purchase agreement with Great Plains Energy for the 150MW Slate Creek Wind Project south of Wichita, Kansas.

EDF did not release financial terms of the deal.

Great Plains Energy is the parent company of electric utilities Kansas City Power & Light and KCP&L Greater Missouri Operations.

Slate Creek will consist of 75 Vestas 2MW wind turbines. EDF anticipates construction to begin in the fourth quarter with full commercial operation in fourth quarter 2015.
