Scottish go-ahead for PNE

South Lanarkshire Council's planning committee has approved six 3MW turbines for PNE Wind's Penbreck wind farm in southern Scotland, the German developer says.

The turbines will have a maximum tip height of 125 metres and a combined output of 27MW.

"We are pleased that the efforts of our colleagues in Edinburgh over the past few years are now paying off with the receipt of this permit, which marks another major operational success in the development of our UK wind farm portfolio," says Markus Lesser, chief operational officer at PNE Wind.

A further three turbines in neighbouring East Ayrshire will be considered in a separate application.
