Wind OEM Siemens Gamesa has cut the ribbon at its new blade factory in Tangier, Morocco, a facility it claims will give it access to key growth markets well beyond North Africa.
The plant – billed as the first blade factory built by an OEM in Africa and the Middle East – will produce the company’s 63-metre, B63-10 blades, for SWT-DD-130 turbines up to 4.2MW,
