Microsoft has signed a power deal to buy all the output from a 37MW GE wind project in Ireland, claimed to be the first European deployment of turbine-integrated battery storage.
The 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) will see the software giant take power from GE’s Tullahennel Wind Farm in County Kerry.
The power will be used to support Microsoft’s cloud data services in Ireland.
