Progress on the UK’s pioneering Kincardine floating wind power array has suffered a setback linked to unspecified “difficulties” in its project supply chain.
Kishorn Port, on the northwest coast of Scotland, where the concrete caissons for the project’s turbines were to have been built for development consortium Kincardine Offshore Wind Ltd (KOWL), was informed yesterday that problems with “an important element” of the supply chain had “forced [the developer] to reconsider [its] methodology and led to a delay in issuing a contract for the project”.
