The global wind industry is expected to spend over $37bn through to 2026 on the fiber, resins, core materials, adhesives and coatings need to manufacturer its ever-long turbine blades, according to a new report from consultancy Navigant Research.

The report found that the market for blade materials would reach $4.5 bn this year, driven by the fast-clip pace of research and development into blade designs that are becoming stronger and longer as the wind industry builds the next generations of higher-power, ultra-large turbines.
