Billionaire Warren Buffett’s utility holding company PacifiCorp is seeking “cost-competitive” bids for up to 1.27GW of new wind power capacity or re-powering of existing facilities in its service territory comprising six US states.
The request for proposals (RFP) is among the largest issued by a US utility for wind power in the last several years, and will help both PacifiCorp and the Rocky Mountain region lessen their dependence on coal for electricity generation.
