Germany’s Innogy and joint venture partner Statkraft have selected Siemens Transmission and Distribution as the preferred substation supplier for the 860MW Triton Knoll wind farm project off eastern England.
The developer said, once finalised, the contract will require the construction of two offshore substation platforms and an onshore substation.
Siemens will also design and deliver a 400kV electrical connection into the existing National Grid substation at Bicker Fen, to connect power from the wind farm into the grid.
