Dong Energy’s sale of its upstream business to chemicals giant Ineos is expected to close this week after two countries gave regulatory approval.

Authorities in Norway and Denmark signed off on the deal, worth more than $1bn, which was agreed in May. Dong said both parties expect to complete the transaction on 29 September.

“As part of the transaction, Ineos takes over all decommissiong liabilities,” said state-controlled Danish player Dong.
