The first foundation has been assembled at the 714MW East Anglia 1 (EA1) wind farm off the English coast.
EA1, which will consist of up to 102 7MW Siemens wind turbines, is located approximately 43km off the Suffolk Coast in the southern North Sea. The €3bn ($3.23bn) project is being developed by Spain’s Iberdrola.
Spanish player Navantia, which is fabricating 42 jackets for the project, said the foundation should be ready in two weeks.
