Billionaire Warren Buffett’s MidAmerican Energy has reached “definitive agreements” with GE Renewable Energy to repower hundreds of older turbines at multiple wind farms in Iowa, work that will begin later this year.
Neither company released financial details of the deal, which covers GE machines only and is among the largest for repowering turbines thus far in the US. Regulators at the Iowa Utilities Board recently approved the plan.
