After selling more than 750MW of completed wind projects in the past two years, Brazilian developer Casa dos Ventos says it has enough cash to mitigate any foreign currency effects if it chooses to import turbines for the upcoming tenders in December.

“If we need to, we can pay down the foreign currency part of the financing quickly so as to reduce exposure to foreign exchange risk,” the company’s new business development officer, Lucas Araripe told Recharge.
