Pressure is building for New York to announce the next steps in its plan to reach 2.4GW of offshore wind by 2030, but state officials say it could be years before additional zones are put to tender.

Developers are clamouring for New York to issue its first offshore request for proposal (RFP) in 2018, to follow the one now underway in Massachusetts, says Anne Reynolds, executive director of the Alliance for Clean Energy New York, an industry group whose members include Deepwater Wind, Statoil and Dong Energy.
