Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is discontinuing the manufacturing of the Adwen AD8 and swapping the 8MW offshore machine for the Siemens Gamesa D8 model for at least 1GW out of its near-1.5GW French offshore wind pipeline.
The wind OEM through its Adwen France unit plans to supply the 496MW Dieppe-Le Tréport and the also 496MW Yeu-Noirmoutier projects off the French coast with the D8 model that is based on the existing Siemens Gamesa offshore direct-drive platform.
