Wind turbine OEM Siemens Gamesa will export 300MW-worth of fully-assembled hubs from its facilities in Brazil to its units in Central and North America in 2018, in a bid to keep the Brazilian supply chain ticking over until new firm orders are confirmed following tenders in December.
The export programme was formally announced on 15 September and should involve at least 15 component suppliers, including foundries, and ring bearings, electronic systems and casings manufacturers.
