Two Taiwanese offshore wind projects backed by Canada’s Northland Power with the potential to hold 1GW have passed a key environmental permitting test, while seven other projects – including several backed by Denmark’s Dong Energy – will be forced to try again.

In their second panel review before the Small Group Committee within Taiwan’s Environmental Protection Administration (EPA), the Hai Long 2 and 3 projects – owned by Northland and its local partner Yushan Energy – were approved earlier this week, Northland confirmed to Recharge.
