Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is presenting an upgrade to its direct drive 3MW onshore turbine platform to a rating of up to 4.3MW in order to cater to IEC wind classes I to III, a company spokesperson told Recharge.
The 3MW class so far had been offered as SWT 3.15-142 and as SWT 3.7-130 models, with a rating of up to 3.7MW.
