Sector analyst MAKE cut its 10-year global installation outlook by 1% and flagged a 28% drop in second-quarter turbine orders amid disruption to key markets such as Germany, China and India, as the shift to auctions and other policy wrinkles make their impact felt across the wind industry.

MAKE’s Q3/2017 Global Wind Power Market Outlook Update says the transition to auctions – while beneficial in many respects – has had a negative impact on short-term demand in some markets and a consequent downgrade in installation forecasts.
