Germany’s next government needs to speed up wind expansion, fix onshore tendering problems, and do more to enlarge the energy transition to transport and heating if wants to reach its Paris climate targets, industry leaders told the Husum Wind 2017 fair and congress.

Unless Germany increases the speed of its renewables expansion, it will not be able to contribute sufficiently towards the goals of the 2015 Paris climate deal, Hermann Albers, president of the country’s wind energy federation BWE, told the event, which opened on Tuesday.
