OEM Siemens Gamesa has signed a framework deal with German developer VenSol Neue Energien covering turbines in the highly-competitive German onshore wind market.

VenSol plans by 2020 to install up to 30 SWT-DD-142 machines with ratings between 3.5MW and 3.9MW, the two partners said in a statement from the Husum Wind 2017 industry event.

The machines will be installed at either a 129-metre or 165-metre hub height, with deployment targeted at sites in Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Saarland, Rhineland-Palatinate, Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia and Thuringia.
