Reviving investor confidence in India’s renewables sector should be high on the priority list of the country’s new power minister, analysts said.

Raj Kumar Singh was appointed minister of power and renewable energy by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as part of a government reshuffle, replacing previous incumbent Piyush Goyal who held the post for more than three years.

Singh – a former interior minister of India – faces some big challenges as the country pursues its renewable energy goals.
