Luiz Barroso, president of Brazil’s energy planning authority (EPE), has called on investors to help clear a backlog of un-built wind projects, a move he says will give the federal government a clearer view of future capacity demand and increase chances of new contracts in upcoming tenders.

He considers this step as essential to help re-start annual tenders that could contract as much as 12GW of fresh wind power capacity over the next decade.
