The Australian state of Queensland’s 400MW renewables auction has attracted over 200 companies to register an interest in building large-scale renewables and energy storage projects.

Acting energy minister Curtis Pitt said the so-called “reverse auction” was part of the Palaszczuk government’s commitment to continuing the unprecedented momentum in new renewables investment in Queenland.

“There has already been significant interest in our Renewables 400 programme, with 201 businesses registered so far including project developers, investors and local small businesses,” Pitt said in a statement.
