Siemens Gamesa chief executive Markus Tacke has called for a readjustment of the pre-qualification criteria for German onshore wind auctions in order to counter concerns among turbine makers that some winning projects may never be built.

His comments to Recharge mirror a wider view among manufacturers and suppliers that too loose criteria for so-called citizens or cooperative wind projects may result in some of those wind parks never being built and thus endangering a current upbeat growth trajectory for wind power in Europe’s largest economy.
